President Goodluck Jonathan Gives Reasons Why He Sacked Youth Minister by Victormology: 5:53am On Aug 30, 2013 |
President Goodluck Jonathan has described as false and baseless, insinuations in the media that the appointment of the former Minister of Youth Development, Alhaji Inuwa Abdulkadir, was terminated because he failed to ensure his preferred candidate emerged as president of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN). The President also denied that he had a preferred candidate in the elections. According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati, President Jonathan remained sincerely and unwaveringly committed to doing all within his powers to promote the credibility and integrity of the electoral process at all levels in the country. The Presidency stated that it was Abdulkadir’s “regrettable deviation from his presidential commitment in the management of the NYCN elections that led to the decision to relieve him of his appointment as Minister of Youth Development.” Jonathan said he was very displeased with the mishandling of the NYCN elections in Makurdi and Minna by the Ministry of Youth Development which resulted in the unfortunate fractionalization of the youth council. God is watching us all, he is rescuer of d oppressed. why not give d minister free hand. it has come to election of the NYCN u are unsatisfied or intervening. why hav u not intervened since d minister has'nt done anytin for d Nigerian youth. If Jonathan could dissipate half the kind of energy and vision he uses in sacking, muzzling, intimidating, suspending those real or percieved opponents/rebels to his 2015 re-election ambition to governance and leading Nigeria, Europe,America, Asia and co would have sent their leaders and professors to come learn from him. |
