There are German phrases missing...:
Ich liebe dich--- I love you (said to one person)
Ich liebe euch--- I love you (said to more persons)
Wie geht es dir?--- How do you do? How are you? (asked to one person)
Wie geht es euch?--- How do you do? How are you? (asked to more persons)
....

no vex -- pidgin english . it means "don't be vexed" or "don't be mad" or "angry"
nuff -- enough ?
wo me no sabi - (yoruba/pidgin) it means "look, i don't know"
nope - "no"

i know nothing in german. I get it all mixed when i try to pronounce those words.

Jalal:

@Mmomi, your really learning German fast!!!
@Micheala, there are some funny letters in German, maybe u could tell us what they mean and how they are uesd? Thanks

@ Jalal: You certainly mean the "ä", "ö", "ü", "ch", "ß"....
Well, one can't really describe the meaning and usage of them. hmmm....
For example: The German language knows the "s" and the "ß" . But the usage of the one or the other is quite complicated.
Well, i.g.: foot is "Fuß" in German, here we use this "ß", because the u is spoken longly. River means "Fluss" in German, here we use the "ss" because the u is spoken shortly.
Re: Teach me a Dialect! by Jalal(m): 11:44am On Jan 23, 2006
Thanks Michaela, that really helped!!!! Teach me more!!!
Re: Teach me a Dialect! by Michaela(f): 11:48pm On Jan 23, 2006
Well, "ä,ö and ü" are our so called "Umlaute". Instead of "ä" one can also write "ae" and so on.
