THE SIGNIFICANCE OF WHAT WE CARRY

September 5, 2013

MEMORY VERSE: Gen 25:5 And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.

A lot of believers today do not walk in the consciousness of who they are and of what they carry. They live ordinary lives and their results are usually mediocre at best. This was Isaac's experience in Gen 26. The bible records that Abraham gave his worldly possessions to the sons of his concubines but to Isaac he gave all he had. This means that the power to reproduce all that Abraham had was what Isaac had been given.

In Gen 26 however, Isaac forgot what he carried; he forgot that he did not have to panic like others were doing nor did he have to run Egypt in order to succeed, he had within him what could make him succeed regardless of his location.

Reading further in Gen 26, it becomes obvious that the realisation of what Isaac carried had dawned on him when he did not struggle with the Philistines over any of the wells he dug. He simply moved on to the next site and began digging. He knew that the wells were not filled up because of their location but because of the blessing upon his life.

We must constantly remind ourselves of who we are and of what we carry. We are not ordinary! We are heirs of God's kingdom and we have within us the power to produce all that we desire to see in our lives. We have been empowered to live the life of God here on earth.

Like Isaac, we have been blessed and as blessed men, we know no better yesterdays. Our path is like the shining sun which shines ever brighter unto the perfect day (Prov 4:18). Thank God for the victories of last month but there is still more to be had. The victories of last month should seem commonplace now because of where God has taken you since then.

CONFESSION: a better version of all I have lost in the past is being produced in my life!

PRAYER: From today, I enjoy supernatural results in Jesus' name.
