Microsoft Corp buys Nokia's phone business and
license its patents for 5.44 billion euros
($7.2 billion), a bold foray into mobile
devices that also brings potential chief
executive contender Stephen Elop back into
the fold.
Two years after hitching its fate to
Microsoft's Windows Phone software, the
Finnish phone maker that once dominated the
global market collapsed into the arms of the
U.S. software giant, its mobile business
ravaged by nimbler rivals Apple Inc and
Samsung Electronics.

NOKIA'S MISTAKE
Nokia employing former Microsoft General Manager Stephen Elop as thier CEO was their biggest Flop. He was like Microsoft "trojon horse". He successfully navigated Nokia back to to his former and now current employers (Microsoft) by:
1. Opted for Microsoft Windows Mobile against Android or an In-house OS
2. When Nokia+Window Mobile floped he sold a one time €200billion worth company for €5.44bn.

THE BIG QUESTIONS:
1. Was it a right deal at the right direction for both company?
2. If Nokia had made U-turn, drop Microsoft Windows Mobile for Android would they had bounce back to top flight
