Apart from dictionary explanations, can any literature/art student or expert kindly educate us over here. I normally say 'nollywood movies' and 'hollywood 'films', I'm a science student though so on this field no sir! I can't prove this one.

There's no difference between the two. Just that; before the digital era; film refers to movies shot on film (35mm). However, it has now been generalized! Movie/film may refer to any cinematic motion picture.

Meanwhile, note there is a difference between (home) videos and movies/film.

@ OP, it's exactly as SpeedyBoi says...

The only little info to change there is not just 35mm film... all other sizes as well.

No probs. 35mm just happens/happened to be the commonest one as cinemas show/used to show 35mm 'prints'... so even if one shot on 8, 16, 65, 70. I guess practically everything is digital now.
