Recently i have seen alot of people create online radio website and i keep thinking why delving into that? I know its a very good and lucrative business but the question is: are we ready for it in Nigeria?

Its expensive to set up (from N90k/year) for the least server subscription and service. And we the populace are not interested in it cos we dont have that MB to spare. A normal radio voice is 20Kb/s but if you want to have better quality the rate goes higher even up to 183Kb/s which means;
1 hour = 3600 sec
3600 x 20 = 72000 Kb
72000 / 1024 = 70.31 Mb

You successfully consume over 70.31Mb of data per hour for listening to online radios. So the question is why are Nigerians so much in a hurry to set up an online radio?

cool cool
