Davo93: Hmmm... i hate sounding the way i'm gonna sound now but its just the way i feel about the SE issue. Keshi needs to work more on what he has made most of us believe about him, the ethnic-sensitive behaviour he puts up. I still find it very difficult to believe some players have not been given a chance perhaps due to Keshi's love for a tribe. If we don't see Super Eagles as a National team, there will be problem in the future.

I also cannot fathom why the likes of Dele Olorundara, Haruna Babalo, Gbolahan Salami ,the NPL highest goal scorers has not been given a chance in the SE team. I'm sorry from digressing from the topic a bit. #teamNationalist
Be carefull bro, we dont want this in our nation's football at all.

Jarus: I don't think they need to be part of first team of a big club before they show they are good.

Kolo Toure is a big-name defender, he couldn't prevent Nigeria from scoring against CIV.

They have to use a platform to make name for themselves. Super Eagles may just be the platform. Yobo's performance against George Weah at 2002 World cup qualifiers earned him spotlight. He was a rookie before then.

My concern is not about their playing time or bigness of their club, but the fact that we have conceded in too many matches in recent time - Burkina Faso scored us, Spain put 3 past our defenders, Uruguay 2, Kenya 1, even Malawi scored us. And OMG, even Tahiti! We have been winning (and drawing) but we have not being maintaining clean sheet. That is my own concern.

I think our back 4 - Echiejile, Oboabona, Omeruo and Ambrose - are doing fine, but I agree with you we need strong bench, another back 4. For now we don't have a second back 4. Egwueke guy is not good enough. No good back up for Echijile and Ambrose, so bad that we had to use Onazi (a midfielder) as left back when Ambrose was suspended in an AFCON match. I think we need competition in the defence, like we have in attack.

As for Yobo, he didn't do well in his last few matches for SE, but I think he didn't deserve total shut-out. He has done enough for eagles (highest capped player in our NT history, scored crucial goals for us in many qualifiers etc) and should be graciously sent forth. A good send-forth will be taking him to world cup, use him in one or two matches and leave him to decalre his formal retirement after the world cup.

Please leave Yobo alone o till after the world cup qualifiers. Yobo's absence after the first two matches contributed to winning the CAN. That brother can put Nigeria in a dire position o.

nijanigga: Why support super eagles, when you're sure they will flop in Brazil, if they get there. If they made it to Brazil, they won't get out of their group.
Not when Nigeria is in disarray. Gej, is hell bent on diving Nigeria, that's what SE will carry to Brazil.
frustration is not good

ever since the likes of Taribo West and co retired from playing for naija, our defence has never been solid.

In other news...These defENDers should take their TIME and play well at the play-offs if they are to achieve anyTHING come 2014.

Those defenders like Azubuike Egweke is nothing to write home about very poor he is that I wonder why the likes of udoji(enyimba) and ike thankgod(warri wolves) can't make the team.I also want the likes of Mutiu Adegoke(3sc) to give echejiele a run for his money in defence and we also need a player like Haruna Lukman in the midfield because we have no playmaker in midfield.in attack we are superb and ik uche should get a call up rather than shola ameobi who I feel we don't need

Do you remember when Gej was interfering with NFF and he got a warning from FIFA? Gej poked his wide nose into everything. Nigeria can't host final qualifier in Abuja, citing security, yet Gej is living in Abuja.
dude ...pls...with due respect..shut up!...do u really need someone to tell you you are not making sense as far as this thread is concerned?... You hate GEJ..we get ur point. Bt pls he isnt responsible for the choice of defenders or the quantity of playing time they get in their clubs....and on ur abuja stadium security lie, its pointless to tell u hw off-the-point you are

Kenneth Otigba has already played for Hungary.
Keshi's defense still gives me cause for concern. We keep conceding goals which could have been kept out. Our defense is still average in my opinion. Omeruo is no doubt good but is still young and inexperienced. I fear hw he'll keep match fit before January. I don't expect him to stake a claim @ Chelsea yet with his jersey number 51. Oboabona will still break into rizespor's 11. He loses focus in our matches. I still believe Ambrose Efe is better @ central defense, though he is poor aerially, I think our inability to find a good right back made Keshi use him @ RB. That brings us to Daniel Adejo, a RB @ Regianna in Italy's Serie B. He was adjudged 1 of the best right backs in d division last season.
Still can't figure out what Echiejile brings to the team that's anything more special than what T. Taiwo would have. Echiejile's attempt to force a move this past summer might have even put a seal on his chances for playing for Braga again before January. If Keshi can tighten up the defense, the midfield is OK and a little patch-up in the striking area, the team is good for the world cup.

You can't differentiate spelling from grammar, to you spelling mistake is a grammatical blunder. Pity you, once again Gej is destroying Nigeria.
He Started with governor's forum, see where PDP is today.
Any rational person will know that you can't give what you don't have. Nigeria is in dis-array, SE can't carry cohesion to Brazil. Have you read anything about Colombia's team of 1994?

Now this is what I call constructive criticism. I also think Coach Keshi should aproach Tiago Ilori of Liverpool. He might want to play for us. Tiago's rapid rise in football shows his talent and a chance to play at the World Cup will sound appealing to him.

He was a regular starter at Sporting Lisbon before Liverpool signed him.

You can't repeatedly be putting a long-time captain on the bench at matches and not cause un-comfortability in the camp.

It would be more of a humiliation to him than not inviting him at all. People would find it awkward relating to him in the camp.

Unfortunately, his declining performance occurred in a period too far away from the WC to be dragging him along at the team and country's expense.

He should regard the ACN as his send-forth. I think Keshi even helped him increase his caps then at the ACN by using him as sub in matches when he was not needed.

Typical moronic rants of a product of a failed education system.

It is always some moronic conjecture of "they hate my tribe". It is always "Us vs Them" by illiterate moronic fucktards.

Cretin, names some bunch of unknown players and says they deserve a place in the national team.

Cretin, who are these players going to replace in the SE?

He brings far more.

He is good in defence and also good in attack. Taiwo is only good in the latter.

I think Keshi should bring Taiwo in BUT as a left midfielder.

Wow!

That looks like what is called a "steal".

Offer him the chance to play at 2014 WC and he might be heavily tempted to switch.

I agree that we need to strengthen our back line but the core of the team should be the very players who qualified us for the world cup and the manager Steven Keshi must take us to the World Cup.

If the likes of Kenneth Otigba, Tiago Illori and Shola Ameobi will not be available to play for us at Nations cup or qualifiers in the most remote areas of Africa then we dont need them at the world cup.

I dont want the nonesense Kevin Prince Boateng did to Ghana to happen to us. Let those who are committed to the team represent us at the World. Thats my view.

Why not allow Keshi do his job the way he sees fit. If after the world cup Keshi achieves nothing with his tribal team you can take over as National team coach and then select players based on affirmative action and quota system instead of ability to play football.
