A Peoples Democratic Party governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, has dragged the Ekiti State Government to court over alleged destruction of his campaign billboards by suspected agents of the government.

Adeyeye on Wednesday said billboards belonging to some PDP governorship aspirants in the state were destroyed on April 22, few days to the burial ceremony of the late Deputy Governor of the state, Mrs. Funmilayo Olayinka.

The aspirant said the billboards were defaced to give the impression to visitors, particularly leaders of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria who attended the funeral, that there was no opposition party in the state.

In the suit number HAD/35/2013 filed against the Ekiti State Signage Agency and the State Attorney-General by Adeyeye’s counsel, Olalekan Olatawura, the governorship aspirant demands the payment of N100m as general damages, N2.25m being the cost of fabrication and installation of the billboards and signposts.

In his supporting affidavit, Adeyeye said, “The removal and destruction of the campaign billboards and signs by the signage agency is malicious, illegal, null and void”.

He prayed the court to declare that “the first defendant (the Ekiti State Signage Agency) has no powers to remove billboards after approval of the site and payment of requisite fees without any justifiable reason”.

No date has been fixed for the hearing of the suit.

Huh, that's a good move for him. He's very right and I want everyone here to know that the present Government of the state and his agencies of destruction are acting wild and been so stupid. Its sound so stupid of dem to have done that. Its time to tell Fayemi to be very careful cos he's just acting stupid in the state and causing trouble.
