Ethiopia coach dreams of qualifying for
Brazil The Walya Antelopes' trainer has boasted that his
men have all it takes to beat the Super Eagles to
the 2014 World Cup ticket By Shina Oludare Oct 7, 2013 3:15:00 PM Coach Sewnet Bishaw insists his men are ready for the
Nigeria national team when
both sides face off in
Sunday’s first leg final round
of the 2014 World Cup
qualifiers billed for Addis Ababa. Although the Walya
Antelopes are big
underdogs going into this tie against the Eagles that are ranked 36th in the world, the Ethiopian handler maintains an
unwavering doggedness to stage an upset against
the African champions. ’’I don't know Brazil, so I want to see it," Bishaw
told the AFP. Concerning the team's preparations for the
important game at the National Stadium, Bishaw
said his boys are aware of the task ahead of them. "We have tried to prepare them physically as well as
mentally in the first week and now we are doing our
tactical work and we will continue in the coming
few days to combine the two," he said. He however claimed that the Nigerian squad at the
Africa Cup of Nations is not a better team than the
Walya Antelopes. The Eagles won 2-0 via penalties
from Victor Moses on their way to lifting the trophy
for the third time. "If you look seriously at that match, Nigeria were
not a better team than us. Up to the end we were
performing well. But in the last 10 minutes they
used their experience, so they got two penalties. I
think we will have a better game in the coming
match against Nigeria," he concluded. Ethiopia host Nigeria on Sunday while the return
match is scheduled for November 16 with the
aggregate winners qualifying for the 2014 World
Cup. It would be a big shock if the East Africans go
through ahead of their more fancied opponents.

Enyeama, Nwofor arrive camp for
Ethiopia game The national team’s preparation received a
massive boost with the arrival in camp of top
players on Monday afternoon as the squad
prepares for Sunday’s game against the
Antelopes By Shina Oludare Oct 7, 2013 9:58:00 PM The Super Eagles’ camp
came alive on Monday
afternoon as Nigeria
commenced preparation for
Sunday’s first leg W2014
World Cup final play-off clash against Ethiopia in
Addis Ababa. Stand-in skipper Vincent Enyeama was the first
player to arrive the Bolton White Apartment camp of
the national team. The Lille goalkeeper was joined later in the day by
Holland-based striker Uche Nwofor, who was also
business-like as he breezed into the camp to the
warm embrace of head coach Stephen Keshi who
had earlier arrived the base with all his technical
officials and backroom staff. Meanwhile, Chigozie Agbim, Sunday Mba, Solomon
Kwambe, Benjamin Francis and Azubuike
Egwuekwe formed the chunk of home based
professionals that also arrived early. More foreign-based players are expected Monday
night as training begins on Tuesday evening at the
Abuja National Stadium. Speaking ahead of preparations for the crucial
encounter, Keshi said he was happy that none of his
players was nursing any injury but demanded for
total concentration from both players and officials
ahead of the Addis Ababa duel. “We need the concentration and support of all to
reach our goal and I know that everyone here is a
thorough bred professional and will give that to the
team and the Nigerian people”, said Keshi. Nigeria will depart for the important match against
on October 11, two days before the game.

It's unfortunate that the Ethiopians still think Super eagles are still like what they played in Afcon. SE has greatly improved since then. All these are just mind games to raise hopes and boost their confidence which ran away from them when they saw they were drawn with the Eagles smiley
Re: Ethiopia Vs Nigeria - WCQ (1 - 2) On 13th October 2013 by Philipsdael(m): 8:52am On Oct 08, 2013
Super-Eagles should just go for the away-goal and look for nothing less than a drew.
Then, come to Calabar and neatly finish the job.....
We've over underated the Antelops...
I could remember the headache they gave us for about 80minutes before Oluwa-Moses broke the dead-luck and took us to the promise-land.
Fiine, we'll beat them but it won't come that easy..... Even Tahiti can score us.

So, NFF is planning for the Eagles to be conquered in Five years time?

Havilah93: Ethiopia hosts African Champions Nigeria in the 1st Leg of the final round of the Brazil 2014 world cup qualifiers in Adiss Ababa.

All together, both Nigeria and Ethiopia have met seven times with the African champions winning four of these matches.

Ethiopia recorded a famous victory over their more illustrious opponents in a 1994 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, while two other matches between them ended in draws. Past encounters; 1982 Nations Cup Finals: Nigeria 3 Ethiopia 0 The first meeting between both countries was at the 1982 AFCON in Libya, where Nigeria thrashed Ethiopia 3-0. Current Eagles coach Stephen Keshi scored a brace in the game with Ademola Adeshina getting the other goal. Friendly 1993: Ethiopia 0 Nigeria 0 The second game was a friendly played in Addis Ababa in1993 and the Eagles won 1-0.

Two Victor Moses penalties were all the super Eagles needed to progress in the group stages in South Africa.

The Words

NFF

“We have a 100 per cent chance of advancing and qualifying, because in Africa today no team can overcome or subdue us. It may be in another five years to come, but certainly not now. But between now and five years, there is no African country that can bring us down,’’ Peters said.

“Yes, there are teams that you will want to face and say anything can happen. But, with Ethiopia, nothing can happen. We will just advance, because there is no upset with Ethiopia,’’

So, what Mr. Peter is saying, is that NFF is not bothered about the next five years? that NFF is not planning for a stronger Eagles, therefore, other African teams will be subduing Eagles in five years time? what a way to open thier mouth wide?

To me,the worst result for the eagles is a draw while the best result is a win.Any of these result 'll land the super eagles in Brazil come 2014.......
