September 28 is World Rabies Day. The words 'rabies' and 'veterinary science' are a problem and its solution many people, especially those in the rural areas and the uneducated are ignorant about. Do you have a dog(s) as a pet(s)? What do you know about rabies and veterinary science? These are necessary questions that deserve responsive answers. For this reason, exactly a year ago, Lagosians and veterinarians, in company of dogs and horses, danced to the tunes of a local band through the streets of Lagos to take the 'boxing out rabies out of our town' campaign to the grassroots. Apart from educating the teeming mass of fellow Lagosians, free veterinary vaccinations were made available in Ikorodu, Epe, Agege, Alimosho and Badagry, to drive home their common yearning for a total rabies free society.
