Is Nairaland Now Losing Members?? by joeace2020(m): 6:43am On Oct 01, 2013
i cudnt find a better place so pardon my posting this here. Since seun introduced the deactivate button on Nl as a result of the fight by some aggrieved Nl'ers over the behavior of a certain super duper mod... there has been a drastic drop in Nl registered members and this indicates the frustration of wanting to leave this place that some ppl hv not been to do for a long yl now... financially it may not pan out well for seun if the numbers are anything to go buy but in the long run a business man should know how to woo investors in a business.... anyway long story short the numbers at 9 yesterday evening was 1136958 members, as at this morning 1136941 members, a loss of ova 17 members... it may increase if some mods will adhere to wat will be taught them.. if not i see a forum about to loose its value and die out altogether. maybe its time to enthron democracy and eschew aristocracy.... maybe this is nairalands independence day.

long live nairaland!!
long live Nigeria!!!
long live democracy!!!
happy independence day!!!

Every forum has its rules; and Nairaland cannot be different no matter what. Rules are good; it's just that they should not be made or introduced to witch-hunt people.

For the fact that I am registered on NL does not mean I am a member. I just use it when I am free for whatever purpose catches my fancy. If I get banned, I don't complain but wait until next time I can post. And life continues. Mtcheeew.

^^^ he will come back , trust me .
Nairaland can be an addiction , like other addictions , u fight it, sever contact but still relapse back unless u find a formidable counter passion .
If u say u want to go just for the sake of going , u will be back surely
.
The first batches of people to go will be those who took nl too serious .
The second will be those with so many alt accounts
The third would be people that want to throw away the skeletons n start a new life eg marriage or politics
Re: Is Nairaland Now Losing Members?? by Nobody: 11:10am On Oct 01, 2013
With the introduction of that button, Seun must be very careful on how he treats and relates with the members. Any mistake or strongheadedness on the request over the members or introduction of unfavorable policies/rules on his part means this forum is going down the drain.

I hope so. I really do. We don't just make friends here, we make family too. I agree that some of them can't do without NL for a week. Na just IGG (Initial Gra Gra)

1) There will still be complaints (I don't want to say why, because I don't want to trigger the complaints).

2) The only thing that will change is that members and guests will also be able to monitor the ebb and flow of viewership/membership, but people will still leave and return as they have always done since 2005.
