A Nigerian policeman has been sacked after being caught on film apparently trying to extort $150 (£100) from a motorist accused of a traffic offence. (Source: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-23625003).. Farouk Lawan is alleged to have collected $500,000 of a $3m bribe solicited from an oil tycoon to drop his company from the investigation. (Source: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-21294154).. The irony of it is that both were caught on video and shown to us all to see. The sergeant was dismissed and the "Honourable" still has his job making laws. OYA. |
