FG should make sure the NIPP completes this Transmission line and substation by the new December date, so as to enable this company evacuate the already available 350MW to the grid. Just imagine a whole 360MW wasting away when we are complaining that we do not have enough power in the country. NIPP complete the job asap. ALSCON should not worry too much though cos the new private DISCO in charge of that Akwa Ibom area would do every thing within its power to buy this captive power from them cos the more power they can distribute to consumers, the more money they make- that is assuming NIPP completes the Transmission line fast of couse. This is one of the advantages of the Privatization of the power sector. 2 Likes |

Cheap publicity stunt; ALSCON should major in their majors and not in their minors. In other news there is still no electricity in UNIPORT and ALUU. |

In other news there is still no electricity in UNIPORT and ALUU.ALSCON can earn some money here which they would also add to improving their core operations..that's why the BULK TRADER exists and have been capitalized with over $750million |

otokx: Cheap publicity stunt; ALSCON should major in their majors and not in their minors. In other news there is still no electricity in UNIPORT and ALUU.How is it a 'publicity stuck'? ALSCON has a 540MW Power Plant but only needs about 180MW to run its operations for now, so has an Excess 360MW which it can sell to customers on d National Grid that needs power (and they are very many of them) and get real money in return. How is that a 'stunt'??.... There are many Cops currently in this same position today eg Flour Mills, Dangote Cement, etc. This shld not be surprising seeing the new Privatised/Liberalised Power Market... |

ALSCON should focus on their Aluminum smelting which they have long abandoned. |

Rubbish. Alscon is the most inconsistent company i have come across. Today is we have excess electricity, tmrw will be we dont have gas, the next day, we are under producing, the next day, alscon is not a failure. I don't know exactly is feeling the impact of that company. They should hand over that place to the americans to manage abeg |
