This has been on my mind for a while also.
Personally, I prefer newer model cars but the 08-present of this corolla seems to have one single problem that I have noticed....THE BODY. dent any part of the front or rear bumper and the car is ugly AF. But the 03-07 seems to have a good body framework no matter what though I think the 08-present models have the nicer and better engines. Just my observation though. Anyone else can say what he/she notices.

@DONWHALES.....Yaaahhh we all know that the 03-07 is an old model, And every one will want to drop the old tings and go for the new tings....But you find out that, the old tings last longer than the new tings.....For me the 03-07 model is not too old its still recent and performs well for the average individual wey no get money for the 08 model upward.

Basically the engines are not different.The body of the 03-07 is stronger The 08 above model is flashier. I use the 04 model its strong and durable consumes less fuel especially when the plugs are new.I'm praying for God to bless me more to get the 09 model

bro, the engines are entirely different. i think the engines of the 03-07 have even been discontinued
