National Assembly Plans Prayer To Avert Plane Crashes, Terrorism by fkaz(m): 5:38am On Oct 11, 2013
The National Assembly will this month hold a prayer session to seek God’s intervention to end terror attacks and to avert more plane crashes in the country.
Chairman, Publicity Committee of the National Prayer Breakfast of the National Assembly, Senator Ita Enang, stated this at news conference in Abuja yesterday.
Enang noted that against the backdrop of a myriad of problems confronting the country as an entity, the national assembly is set to seek the face of God for spiritual solutions to the problems.
Enang, who is also Chairman, Senate Committee on Business and Rules, said the prayer session would focus especially on the unending security challenges ravaging the Northeastern part of the country over the last three years and other problems facing the country.
The National Prayer Breakfast is an annual event organised by the National Assembly to bring together Nigerians of all faiths, tribe and creed to seek the face of Almighty God for divine solutions to the myriad of problems confronting the nation.
He noted that the National Prayer Breakfast, with the theme: “God in the lives of national leaders for development,” would feature Pastor John Enelamoh, who would give the key note address to “help in pulling down all walls and vices blocking the growth of the nation in the right direction.”
He said: “The 2013 National Prayer Breakfast, seeks to build bridges of unity, national harmony and progress.
“Through the instrument of our faith, we prayerfully pull down all walls and vices that divide us as a nation and provoke the spirit of patriotism and love among Nigerians necessary to propel Nigeria to her rightful place in the comity of nations.”
He added that the prayer conference, which would have in attendance President Goodluck Jonathan, the leadership, management and members of the National Assembly with their counterpart in the judiciary as well as members of the diplomatic corps, would be spiritual avenue for God to guide the leaders of the nation right.
He said: “We hope that as every well-meaning Nigerian join us at the prayer conference, the prayer to God of all creation, to direct our noble cause, guide our leaders aright, help our youths to know the truth and build a nation where peace and justice reign, shall definitely be answered.”

This is serious, we now have prayer warriors.
please they should not forget to include ASUU STRIKE as one of their prayer point, because it is very important. May God answer their prayer.

Stupiid dummys, ... I'm sure other developing economies hold prayer sessions in their Parliament to avert crashes undecided

Simple!, work on your maintenance culture, implement 'rigid' policies to check the activities of the aviation sector and ultimately, provide infrastructure. Everything will work out fine. Prayers won't do anything angry

Dear National Assembly Members,
This is indeed a good development, please those who profess Christianity amongst you should remember James 2: 14-26 which tells us that "faith without deeds (works) is dead"
Pray all you want, without works (actions, leading by examples, "doing the job Nigerians elected you to do"wink all the prayers will just be...noise!!!

*i wish I knew a ready verse in the Quran for the adherents of Islam. (Can someone help?)

*i speak only on the two "known" religions, because these "honorables" swore on the Bible and Quran.

Much as they chose to fly and allow our roads to be a death trap for the poor, death shall not depart from the sky.

Their prayers will NOT take it away.

iterator25: are they going to share biscuits after prayers?
Biscuits?? They will first send reminders on three separate days before the prayer date, then planes will be waiting in all airports in Nigeria to convey interested parties (let's not say all top government officials). Fasting wasn't mentioned, expect top chefs to be there, making the prayer worth the while. Islam is a religion too, expect the moslem-brothers in all their magnanimity-and for the prayer (say 1,2 or 2 days). After the prayers, there'll be a 'Thank you Allah/God banquet'. After which planes will be transporting them back to their various states. There must be adequate security, health care, press and other comfy-ideas present all through. This, my friend, will never be cheap.

They pray today and chop the country money the next morning. Even the Holy Bible says 'Faith without Work is vanity'(kjv). Why dont you all repent from your evil acts and see maybe things will not be better. But if you really want to pray, night vigil is advisable and make sure you televise it live on both CHANNELS and NTA.
I don vex

You can't just predict what these hopeless people are going to come up with. Prayers to avert plane crashes? They are probably praying because they have proximity to death by flying. Na pesin wey neva chop go enter plane?
