The plolice is an arm of government vested with the power to protect lives and propertys, But in this case Rivers state police only protect the rich and ignore the poor.

I have been in Portharcourt say 3 months and I each time I come in contact with the police And witness how they treat people of the state, I feel sad because the police here are just plain wicked.
God help you if policemen are escorting a top government official and your bus or car did not stop so they can pass, gosh they don't mind stopping and giving whosoever the beating of his life. They dnt obey traffic rules at all.

They have no regard for anybody, the other day I watch as they practically sent a woman into the gutters simply because she did not allow them pass. This woman was carrying somethings on her head, it was raining and I believe she was in a hurry to find shelter but the police never cared, the annoying part was that they rained curses on her for not waiting till they crossed.

they are only interested in making money from poor residents, corrupt set of policemen in Rivers gosh I have never seen them this bad only in Rivers state.
The worst is a group called "Timarif" (I hope this is the correct spelling) those ones are making millions of naira everyday from unlucky commuters.
I don't know if the state can ever get better with ways these group handle their people. Is so sad angry sad

I taught I was the only person who observed this, from rumubiakani junction, the go one way to woji junction, only a few of them, maybe company escorts, that follow the normal way, but the traffic in that place na die sha.

Nobody is safe from the police brutality, not even the state governor and when he speaks they say he is a show off, he is making noise. People has just deliberately blindfolded their eyes with politics while things go catastrophically wrong. Then when that fold comes off and they behold the damage, they will ask see even they are not excluded from it.
