Yes it would have been easy if one wants to create a social network site. Facebook and twitter is a social network and cannot be compared to a forum. Nairaland has long been existed and as a matter of fact, most of the website back then no longer exists. I was thinking one need to have some capital to start the project |

You can but it will take time to get it running on autopilot(members starting a thread). It depends on the niche and the value it will bring. If you know what you want to achieve, you can get into another Internet business that can bring you good return. Some site in Nigeria are making more in terms of money. Do your research before you start. It is even hard to grow your membership unless you find a trend. 1 Like |

Tech Pros: @talk2D can you pls name some of those site making moneyNaijastories.com, lindaikeji..com, bellanaija.com, cp-africa.com. All of them make more money than Nairaland and all of them have their unique ways of making money. The secret is to find out what you are good at and focus on it. |

JMOI: Naijastories.com, lindaikeji..com, bellanaija.com, cp-africa.com. All of them make more money than Nairaland and all of them have their unique ways of making money. The secret is to find out what you are good at and focus on it. Not sure you know what you saying. Take @Linda for example : highest per month should be about 1.5 mil monthly and if you consider slow month that should be about 18 - 20 million naira annually. bellnaija - should make about the same amount. While naijastories and cp-africa am not sure even makes up to 5mil annually |

Tech Pros:Their major source of income is through sponsored posts. Do you know that someone paid Linda 50k just to write a paragraph-long post on her blog promoting his track? Now think of how much bigger companies like Unilever will pay just 4 her to promote their product or an upcoming event on her blog |
