JOB TITLE: PRINCIPAL SYSTEMS ANALYST/DEVELOPMENT-Engineering & Technical Services REFERENCE INDICATOR: IMT/51

2. JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE
Lead the analysis, design, and implementation of quality engineering and technical business systems to ensure they are fit-for-purpose for the organisation.
3. MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Responsible for analysis, design, development and implementation of new or enhanced business systems following IT standards.

2. Design and implement business process changes in support of major IT projects.

3. Develop functional requirements that represent business needs using UML and use cases.

4. Translate business requirements into application functionality with sufficient technical background to define non-functional requirements.

5. Perform business analysis, business process re-engineering, requirements gathering and problem solving in support of the Company IT User Community.

6. Develop gap analysis between existing and proposed functionality of business applications.

7. Serve as the business systems knowledge source and collaborate with users to solve functional problems and create new business processes.

8. Consult with support and project teams to gather current processes and functional requirements to design systems improvements and optimize application and technology use.

9. Coordinate acceptance testing of new application systems and technology; drive test script development and application testing company-wide.

10. Serve as enterprise custodian of application development tools and standards to ensure control and standardization.

• Implement assigned process improvement initiatives and projects within agreed delivery time

• Problem resolution within SLA.

• Customer Satisfaction Index (Users, Quality Assurance, Business Analyst, Project Team)

• Number of change requests due to erroneous requirement specifications

5. JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
A University degree in Computer Sciences or Engineering professional qualifications will be an advantage.
Experience
10 to 12 years post graduation experience, out of which 5 years should be a similar role within the IT department of a reputable organization preferably Oil & Gas company.
