Please is there anyone out there who has been a beneficiary of this scholarship scheme before? The are requesting us to pay 1000naira before we can be eligible to write the scholarship exams. We were requested to invite 10 people before we could register. Applicants in my school are kinda suspicious of this requirements, we really wanna make sure its legit. Pls help us with ur opinions and experiences. Below is the mail the sent us


We are glad to inform you that after careful assessment of over a thousand applications, you have been successfully shortlisted for the final stage of EERA Scholarship Scheme. After the successful completion of the final Stage, your Examination Dates and Venues would be communicated to you via your e-mail address and your primary mobile number.

Please note that this is only a stage in our scholarship application process and successful completion does not guarantee award of scholarship funds. Scholarship would only be awarded to successful applicants who made the scholarship examination cut-off mark after evaluation of your results in the scholarship examination.

To complete the final stage of scholarship, kindly follow the instructions below and complete in two (2) weeks from the date you received this email. Kindly note that responses after the deadline would be regarded as disqualification.

You are required to do the following within two (2) weeks of receiving this mail.

1.       Open a GT Mobile Money Account
2.       Send in your Mobile Money Account Number (which is usually the phone/mobile number you used in registering for your mobile money account) to info@eerang.org with your FULL NAME as the subject of the mail e.g. “FEMI EZRA DALOBA ”
3.       Fund your GT Mobile Money Account (find out how to do so in the instructions provided below)
4.       Transfer #1,000 (one thousand Naira only), which is “Data Management Fee” via your Mobile Money Account to the Account Number Below:

5.       DO NOT deposit cash into the account, it is unacceptable and can lead to disqualification with no refund.
6.       The reason for the payment is for the management of your application data and also for Scholarship funds disbursement for successful applicants. Data Management Fee is non-refundable.
7.       Your application would be valid for our EERA Scholarship application for two years.
8.       We would notify you once payment has being received.
9.       Follow the instructions below to open your mobile money account.

HOW TO OPEN A MOBILE MONEY ACCOUNT
You can access this service through simple ways:

1. Download gtbank mobile money application to your smart phone or java enabled phone-blackberry, android phones, i-phones, nokia, samsung erricsson e.t.c by visiting www.gtbank.com/mobilemoney
2. Obtain a sim with the mobile money sim too kit already installed (only etisalat sims comes with this menu for now)

Etisalat sim tool kit: this is a special etisalat sim that comes with the gtmobile money application installed, and should be used for non-smart phones or non-java-enabled phones users to access their gtmobile money account.

1. Open the app on your phone (for etisalat sim with mobile money menu, open the stk app; and
For blackberry and java enabled phone, locate the gtbank icon)

2. Click on register and provide answers to the questions asked i.e first name, last name and date of birth.
3. After you have responded to these questions, you will receive a text message containing your   actiivation token (6 digits) e.g. 552256

HOW TO ACTIVATE
1. To activate go to the gt mobile money app and click on activate
2. Enter your activation token (6 digits) e.g. 552256
3. Choose a four digit account pin e.g. 4357; repeat the pin to confirm that you have entered it correctly the first time.
4. You will receive a welcome text message from gtmmoney. Your mobile money account is ready for use.
How to deposit money. Visit any guarantee trust bank plc near you to fund your mobile money account.

How to send money...

1. Log in to your account by inputting your phone number and your pin- for downlaodable apps
2. Go to mobile money menu on the sim menu
3. Select “send money”
4. Two options will be displayed
5. Select “to others”
6. Select from wallet
7. Select to gtbank account
8. Type document exchange account number (0138368156)
9. Enter the amount: #1,000 (one thousand naira only)
10. Enter your account pin
11. Confirm the details supplied
12. You will receive a message on your phone confirming the completion of the transaction.

Skimmed thru ur write up....can confidently tell u dats its a SCAM....FRAUD!!....av written many scholarships...ddnt see any with such bogus requirements as dis....talkless of d #1000 u wia asked 2 pay....am nat even aware of ds so-called scholarship....itx pure scam...tell any1 u knw nat 2 patronise or b deceived by it.... Go and apply 4 shell, it expires 30th oct...free of charge
