tonardo: One of the disadvantage of whatsapp is sharing your phone number to strangers.Strangers already had your number before they add you on whatsapp and if you dont want them you can always block them. To me getting everyone on to chat with is the selling point of whatsapp. Nimbuzz existed years trying to restrict access like BBM but u never fancy them, Whatsapp adds automatically, you install it and later complain. It is always a choice but for me i prefer the add everybody then i will choose who to block than sending and responding to pin/friends requests |

I prefer both actually. But I noticed that pictures that are sent via BBM are usually compressed and not clear enough. I kinda prefer the UI of BBM to WhatsApp. The only thing I prefer WhatsApp to BBM is the 'last seen' feature. I feel more comfortable giving someone my pin than my number. Overall, I don't really care! |

Most people are not really really interested in someones mobile number nowadays,except you are a president,minister,governor or a (CLASS A) celebrity... I prefer whatsapp a bit. |

Well both have their advantages and disadvantages. Well for me i prefer BBM because you can restrict you contact members because without an individual having your PIN number he or she cannot have you on his or her contact. But Whats app isn't like that because with your mobile number i can still have access to your profile photo and can still send you messages except it's blocked but which doesn't still block someone from seeing your profile photo and some other activities. 1 Like |

I've got both so I really don't care about which one is better because they both serve me in different ways but if I HAVE to choose, I'll go for BBM cuz I can give my pin out to anyone but quite conscious of who I give me number to. |
