Pls advice on which is better as a first car b/w an auto transmission golf3 or a 1998 toyota rav4.Although I knw dey are both fuel efficient,rugged and reliable,I also need to knw how good d factory fitted ac of d golf3 is nd I also heard d auto trans golf3 is prone 2 failure.pls I need users of both cars and experts advise

u need no advice,just go for the rav4 if u can afford that, the only different is the tyres are more expensive, i guess u don't need it for taxi,,anyway go for the rav,na strong car,,my mother got it since 2000,still using it

Get yourself 1998/99 Toyota Camry or Honda accord, both are excellent and pocket friendly for a starter.

These two vehicles are of different classes, the Golf3 is a hatchback and the Rav4 is an SUV .

Considerations of fuel economy, spare parts cost etc

However , if you can afford either of the two, then the RAV4 should do .
