Represented by an elaborate team of student programmers, Ebuka Okwuokenye, Raymond Ativie, and Emmanuel Inwalome, the university carted away 6 trophies in all coming out as the best in the whole competition and defeating all other Nigerian universities present.

ISPON stands for the Institute of Software Practitioners in Nigeria is aimed at promoting ICT in Nigeria. The ISPON National Software Conference/Software Competition for Universities is to promote an awareness of the imperative of developing Nigeria’s indigenous software development capacity as a national priority.

Congratulations to these guys and Convenant University.

BTW, were other universities like Unilorin, Unilag, UNN, UI, OAU and co not represented in this competition?

I guess these Old universities are living on their past glories, 1st and 2nd Postion to the same school(glorified secondary school like some NLer's used to call them), or could it be the effect of ASUU strike?

What ever it is, I guess this Private University has been able to prove to me that their 1st Class students are truly 1st class who truly merits it after all, this is an open contest to all Universities not Privates alone.

The Government owned Universities needs to wake up and claim their lost positions in the education sector

this isn't a complete news at all base on the motive on trying to hype the academic standard of Covenant University.

To start with, how many universities participated in the competition?
What are the the universities?
Are the public universities among the participants?

As we all know that the public universities are on strike except the University of Ilorin for close to 4 months now. And i can't see how possible it will be for the public universities to bring their students together during this strike to participate.

In the absence of the Public Universities, it is just like saying the horse won the race for all animals in which only herbivores participated without including the carnivores and omnivores.
