Some members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) in Nigeria yesterday said the four months old industrial action by the union can only be resolved if the N100 billion promised by the Federal Government for infrastructural development in universities is made available to the institutions. They said so far what has been seen are promissory notes given to various public universities which does not show much seriousness as government may turn around again to abort the deal. The lectrurers met in Abuja Thursday to review the ongoing strike and come out with a position. The lecturers who pleaded anonymity told Weekly Trust that for instance in the University of Abuja permanent campus, electricity has been cut off due to the vandalisation of electricity cables by thieves, while infrastructures need to be improved upon, especially at the Gwagwalada campus. www.africanspotlight.com/2013/10/26/how-ASUU-strike-can-end-lecturers/ |

The Lecturer should please try to reconsider their struggles and try to reach a compromise with FG who have no plan for our youths... |
