The Rivers State Chapter of the PDP has
welcomed the directive by Governor Chibuike Amaechi to his
Commissioners and Council Chairmen to register with the All
Progressive Congress, APC.
The Party in a statement by the Media Aide to its Chairman,
Jerry Needam, said the decision was long overdue and will now
draw the battle line between those who are on ground and the
pretenders ahead of the 2015 elections.
The State PDP while wishing Governor Amaechi well as he joins
the APC however assured Rivers people of a secure future and
brighter prospect in the ruling PDP led by President Goodluck
Jonathan.
Meanwhile, the spokesman of the Godspower Ake-led PDP in
the state George Ukwuoma Nwogba described as untrue and
baseless the report that Governor Chibuike Amaechi has
defected to the APC, stressing that the Governor and his
loyalists are still intact in PDP.
In a related development, the Rivers State Chapter of the
PDP has condemned the flyers being circulated to a section of
the media alleging negligence as the course of the death of
the mother of the First Lady Charity Oba.
PDP in a statement, Jerry Needam accused the Amaechi
Administration of orchestrating the grand ploy to castigate
President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife Patience ahead of
the epoch making burial this weekend.
The Party regrets that Governor Amaechi’s Administration
could descend so low as to control and politicise the death of
an innocent elderly mother of the wife of the President who
was involved in a ghastly motor accident just to get at his
political opponents and perceived enemies.

I/we didn't vote for APC to rule us in this State but Rivers State -
