We Expect Monday Meeting With FG To Be Fruitful – ASUU

Hopes are high within the ranks of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, as the union is set for a meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan tomorrow that the two parties will arrive at a mutually acceptable solution to the four months old strike which has paralysed the nation’s university education.

The union however expect the solution to be within the context of the implementation of the 2009 agreement, the 2012 MOU and the recommendations of the Needs Assessment Report, warning that any proposal by the Government would be based on a clear acceptance of a framework for the implementation of the 2009 agreement.

Of course naaa ...we all know what happens when 'activists', 'opposing' politicians and even aggressive youths, gets invited to a meeting at Aso Rock. The result is always 'fruitful' and 'rock-fully' solid as a Ghana Must Go Bag.

ASUU go guys! Note when you come out from the meeting and you resume classes, you did so because your supposedly 'agreement' reached (God knows when) has been fully met and satisfied. WE DO NOT want to hear that this or that was not met next year ooo!

As you guys also resume, please kindly ensure that all those kettles and stoves replacing Bunsen Burner/Boiler etc in our University Laboratories, poor habitable accommodation facilities etc ...make sure they are all in order before you agree anything with the FG else we the students will follow you guys up o!
