Reading the majority of responses here, it would appear the average Nigerian is a snob. "Not my portion", "God forbid", "poor mans' ride" etc. Someone mentioned why spend 350k on a trike, when a molue can be had for 200k. Guy, are you for real? Where are your brains? Both are modes of transport, but aimed at different end-users, and different budgets (both the operator and user). The plain fact is the three-wheeler is not aimed at the family car user, it's aimed at investors, and mass transport. Most of those sneering have jumped on bikes AND Napep at some point, gotten to that all important interview when funds were too low to afford a regular taxi, or traffic conditions made using a regular taxi impractical. Yet, these same guys are the same ones feeling way too big for their boots. Guys, we all come from different backgrounds - not all of us can afford big expensive cars. I have great respect for the average Nigerian who pushes a truck, carries bricks on his / her head, sells pure water, uses a bike or trike for mass transport. There is pride and dignity in labour. The funny thing is these guys are the very sort of Nigerians who would build Nigeria. Not those who drive big cars, and have conveniently forgotten their humble beginnings. This is the big difference between Nigeria and the West - in the Western world, no one looks at what car you drive. Because no one really cares, your worth as a person isn't based upon your car. Heck, some of the world's richest and most influential people don't even run exotic cars, some don't even own cars, preferring to lease when needed, or use mass transport. Those looking down on trike riders, shame on you! At least these guys are not thieves, unlike your big car-driving politicians, whom you all seem to applaud. 8 Likes |

Fhemmmy: they make from 3500 down. l have a friend who hearing the financial gain as hyped by people took d keke on hire purchase and he couldnt complete it. though he boasted he will finish the thing in 4 months time. Really formally when keke wasn't this much people made as much as 8000 per day but not these days. |
