ABOUT US

Jonathan for 2015 Young Democrats Movement is a political organization (an initiative of the Conference of Young Nigerian Democrats) established in Oyo State of South Western Zone of Nigeria. It was established with the major aim of upholding the political ideologies, mobilizing and canvassing voters especially Young Nigerian Democrats towards realizing the second term Presidential ambition of President Goodluck Jonathan come 2015.

NAME

There shall be a political organization known as Jonathan for 2015 Young Democrats Movement hereinafter referred to as the political organization.

MOTTO

The motto of the organization is “Vote for Jonathan, Vote for a United Nigeria”.

SECRETARIAT

The registered office of the political organization shall be located in Ibadan, the political headquarters of Southwestern region of Nigeria.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

To uphold the political ideologies of President Goodluck Jonathan
To canvass and mobilize voters especially Young Democrats towards realizing the second term ambition of President Goodluck Jonathan.
To acquire the Presidential Power for President Goodluck Jonathan come 2015 election in Nigeria.
To maintain and promote the security of the Country by installing President Goodluck Jonathan as the next President of the Federation.
To uphold and defend the Presidential ambition of President Goodluck Jonathan
To reward members or group of members who support President Goodluck Jonathan in realizing his second term Presidential ambition.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership of the political organization shall be open to all Nigerians irrespective of religion, ethnicity, sex, social or economic status and who in showing the organization ideological philosophy, undertake to abide by the organization’s ambition.

RIGHTS AND DUTIES OF MEMBERS

Members shall be entitled to:

Take full and active part in discussions, formulation and implementation of the policies and programmes of the political organization.
Offer constructive criticism of any policy, activity or programme of the organization that he or she believes are not in the best interest.
Receive and impart information on all aspects of the organization’s policy or programme.
Take part in campaign subject to such conditions as may be prescribed by the organization.

A member shall:

Take appropriate steps to understand, propagate and execute the aims and objectives of the political organization.
Defend the policies and programmes of the organization.
Refrain from acts of sabotage against the organization.
Be loyal to the organization by observing its rules, regulations and directives.
Ensure that he or she is registered as a voter in the constituency of his or her choice.

REGISTRATION OF MEMBERS

Registration of members shall be at the Ward level provided that before the establishment of all ward executive of the organization could be carried out at all level of the organization and data of the organization and data of the registration will be transmitted to the wards at the appropriate time.

MEETINGS

The Chairman of any organ of the organization shall preside over the meetings of that organ.
All meetings of the party shall be conducted and recorded in English Language. However, the Chairman of a meeting may invoke his discretion to allow the use of local language if in his judgment, communication and the peace of the meeting would be thereby facilitated.
The chairman of a meeting shall have power to ask erring or offender member to leave meeting.
Voting on any subject at a meeting shall be by a show of hands or secret ballot.
Except otherwise provided in this contribution, decisions of any organ of the organization shall be taken by a simple majority of votes or members present.

FINANCE

The funds of the organization at all levels shall be divided but not limited to the following sources:

Periodic Dues
Levies
Donations and Contributions
Earnings from any of its project or investment
Levies
