I'm a used mobile phones dealer from Poland. I work with many traders from several regions (Western Europe, Southern Asia, few African countries). I don't know much about the Nigerian market, though,

I'd like to hear your opinions on the following - do the Nigerians need/want used handsets from Europe

So long as the features are quite good and they are dirty cheap compare to the brand new ones. Nigerians will rush it, just as they rush fairly used cars. I will rush for a fairly used sony ericsson p910 anyday or a Nokia Communicator.

Question will be how much do you think your "used" phones will cost in the market in Nigerian (landed cost+margin) compared with the dirty cheap brands being imported from Asia?

There is always market for everything in Nigeria as long as its dirty cheap.

We're selling phones in large batches (300-1500pcs. per order) and I tend to value whole batches, not particuliar models. Our average price for used untested mobile phones are somewhere around 14-17 US$.

On a serious note, Nigerians will rush cheap fairly used smart phones: Nokia symbia, Andriod, BB, Iphone etc.
