The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is a Nigerian union of university academic staff, founded in 1978, with a history of militant action. Currently ASUU has engaged on another strike which begun on the 1st of july, and is already 4 months and 12 days old as at the 12th of November,2013. Claims made by ASUU in regard to the strike are centered largely on FUNDING and a certain EARNED allowance which it claims to be in an arrears of (92 billion Naira) Thus it seems pertinent for students to make good use of their time during these long periods of school being closed.
