Pandemonium broke out in Osogbo, the capital of
Osun State, when four students were reportedly
injured as some students of Baptist High School,
Jaleymi, Osogbo engaged in a bloody fight with some
secondary school students from another school in
town.
Though the cause of the clash was unknown as of the
time of filing this report, eyewitness informed
Saturday Tribune that the clash lasted for almost two
hours before operatives of the Nigeria Security and
Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) could restore order in
the area.
However, some teachers, who pleaded anonymity
hinted that clash was precipitated by rivalry between
two cult groups.
Sources informed our correspondent that some male
pupils armed with machetes and other weapons
invaded the school in the morning and engaged the
male students of the school in a clash which
eventually culminated in the sudden closure of the
school.
When Saturday Tribune visited the school premises on
Friday, students were spotted trooping out of the
school enmasse before the official closing time with
some parents rushing to the school to take home their
children.
Meanwhile, operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil
Defence Corps and policemen were deployed to the
school to restore peace so as to prevent the
development from degenerating into a complete
breakdown of law and order.
Some of the witnesses said four students were injured
while the clash lasted, but security agencies were
able to arrest two male pupils and two female pupils.
However, some of the students and residents around
the school contended that those arrested were not the
ones involved in the clash.
When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the
NSCDC, Mr. Ayo Olowe, confirmed the incident,
explaining that the situation was put under control
through the prompt response from the men of the

Ogbeni aregbesola had performed beyond expectation in education sector in osogbo but he is about to have his name tarnished....i pray those little guys dont kill themselves before they could realise that almagamating the muslim with the christain sch aint a good idea in osogbo.it will be just like almagamating the north with the west and south which you all know the outcome we are all facing.somethings are better when they are left untouched and unchanged.

Maybe not.
They will be ready almajiris for Aregberascal's APC to recruit for political cowboy adventures such as he tried to do in Anambra before the police arrested them in Imo.

This is obviously the effect of the neglect that the CORE requirements of education under Aregberascal's maladministration has caused. Focusing on yoyo, shine shine initiatives without adequate attention on the QUALITY and QUANTITY of teaching & extra-curriculum activities as well as adequate monitoring service can only lead to catastrophic outcomes.

So you've descended this low in your reasoning that you couldn't even make any meaningful contribution on issues without mixing your bitter minded politics with everything. Pretend to be grown up sir for once.

@topic, too bad for high school youths.

This is what happens wen u forcelly turn a girls only sch to a mixed school. Since wen baptist girls sch have been founded, they not recorded any sort of clash with other schools but wen ogbeni comes with his diaboloical educational reform, he turned a peaceful school to his nest for breeding touts.

Well, back in my school days,I don't recall noticing cult activities. Though there were occasional fights,it was mostly between the SS3 and SS2 students, and it was within the school, not with another school. And it could get to a point were the students would resort to using matchet and other dangerous objects like broken bottle to fight. embarassed
