Microsoft’s acquisition of Nokia, step 2. Difficulty: Medium.

Today is the day when Nokia shareholders are to decide if Microsoft can go ahead with it’s €3.79 billion acquisition of Nokia devices and services divisions. The original deal was agreed back in September and Nokia shareholders will have to accept the offer by voting in favor of the deal. After that, the deal will still have to go through government regulation agencies both in the USA and in Finland, the homes of Microsoft and Nokia respectively.

With the retirement of Steve Ballmer near, Nokia’s CEO Stephen Elop who once was a Microsoft recruit, is tipped to take over as CEO of Microsoft as soon as Microsoft acquires Nokia.
