Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into PRE-DEGREE PROGRAMMES of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria, for the 2013/2014 academic session. PRE-DEGREE PROGRAMMES ON OFFERThe Pre-degree programmes last for one academic session. Each candidate who successfully completes the programme after adequate counseling will choose from the degree programmes listed hereunder. Placements would however depend on performance and available spaces. Candidates must also take the 2014 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to be eligible for consideration for admission to the University and must obtain a minimum score of 200 in the examination. (i) PRE-DEGREE SCIENCEBiochemistry, Chemistry, Environmental Biology & Fisheries, Geophysics, Industrial Chemistry, Industrial Mathematics, Mathematics, Microbiology, Physics with Electronics, and Plant Science & Biotechnology. (ii) PRE-DEGREE SCIENCE EDUCATIONBiology, Chemistry, Computer Science Education, Health Education, Human Kinetics, Integrated Science, Mathematics Education, Physics and Technical Education. (iii) PRE-DEGREE ARTSLinguistics & Yoruba, Religion & African Culture, and Yoruba (iv) PRE-DEGREE ARTS EDUCATIONAdult Education/Continuing & Non-Formal Education, English Education, History Education, Religious Studies Education, and Yoruba Education. (v) PRE-DEGREE SOCIAL SCIENCEGeography & Planning Sciences and Psychology (vi) PRE-DEGREE SOCIAL SCIENCE EDUCATIONGeography Education and Social Science Education. B. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS (i) PRE-DEGREE ARTS AND PRE-DEGREE ARTS EDUCATIONA minimum of 5 Credit passes at SSCE (NECO or WAEC) obtained at not more than two sittings. These must include English Language, Yoruba, Religious Studies, History/Government. (A Credit pass in Literature in English will be required for English Education) (ii) DEPARTMENT OF LINGUISTICS AND LANGUAGESThe five Credit passes must include English Languages and Yoruba (for B.A. Yoruba) or any language (for B.A. Linguistics).(iii) DEPARTMENT OF RELIGION AND AFRICAN CULTUREThe five Credit passes must include any of the following:CRK, IRK, Arabic, Government, Nigerian Languages and two subjects from either Arts or Social Sciences. (iv) PRE-DEGREE SCIENCE & PRE-DEGREE SCIENCE EDUCATIONA minimum of five Credit passes at SSCE (NECO or WAEC) obtained at not more than two sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. (v) PRE-DEGREE SOCIAL SCIENCESA minimum of five Credit passes at SSCE (NECO or WAEC) obtained at not more than two sittings. These must include Mathematics, English Language and three other Social Science subjects. Those willing to study GEOGRAPHY AND PLANNING SCIENCE must have Credit in Geography in addition to two other subjects. Those willing to study PSYCHOLOGY must have Credit in Biology (vi) PRE-DEGREE SOCIAL SCIENCE EDUCATIONA minimum of five Credit passes at SSCE (NECO or WAEC) obtained at not more than two sittings. These must include Mathematics, English Language and three other Social Science subjects. Those willing to study GEOGRAPHY EDUCATIONmust have Credit in Geography in addition to two other subjects. A pass in Mathematics is acceptable for Social Studies Education C. IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATESAdmission into 100 level from Pre-degree is not automatic. Pre-degree candidates are required to take the 2014 UTME and obtain the minimum pass mark of 200 in the examination. Admission of candidates will be dependent on their Weighted Average in the two semesters, the UTME score and their ranking with respect to the cut-off marks for the chosen courses. Any candidate who did not satisfy all the above conditions and still goes on to pay school fees into the University’s Account would forfeit such fund. D.APPLICATION PROCEDURECandidates are to register online by the payment of N11,000 only for application form by the usage of ONLY ATM card (Verve or Mastercard) and following the steps below: (i) Log on to the University website www.aaua.edu.ng or portal.aaua.edu.ng(ii) Click on pre-degree application(iii) Click Interswitch logo for payment of N11,000 only(iv) Enter the information requested for validation(v) Select verve or MasterCard for payment(v) Fill in the application form and submit after completion(vi) Print a copy of the form after submission and an acknowledgment slip(vii) Candidates are expected to bring the printed form & acknowledgement slip for a screening exercise that will take place from 20 th to 22 nd January, 2014 at the University Campus CLOSING DATE OF REGISTRATION is Friday, January 10th, 2014.CALL ME FOR MORE INFO 07085238641 OR 07033842957
