Arik Air has taken a step to increase the size of its growing fleet to twenty three aircraft and, in so doing, has boosted its London to Lagos, Nigeria route with the introduction of the newest member of its fleet — the Airbus A330-200 wide body, long haul, twin engine plane.

While a spokesman for the airline company said that the primary role for this newest plane in its fleet will be to transport passengers from London to the Lagos airport in Africa, the plane may also be used in the future to service routes to South America and to the Middle East.

The brand new plane is just the first of three that have been ordered by Arik Air from the European manufacturer of commercial airplanes, Airbus.

The new plane, which perfectly complements the airline’s long haul and wide body fleet, will have two class configurations. They include thirty Premier Business Class seats and one hundred seventy eight Economy Class seats.

Arik Air has said, through its spokesman, that its on-board amenities and its wide and comfortable seats are certain to make this aircraft a big hit with its passengers.

The company’s spokesman did not offer any information on specific schedules between London and Lagos or on fares.
