PROLOGUE:
It has been seven or eight years since I started having a weird dream,the dream was getting more real as the day passes by,at first I was afraid but I'v gotten used to it over the years.

In the dream,i was in a place that looked like a forest holding on to a sword in a weird outfit,an ancient garment underneath a silvery armour,the garment was long,it was almost reaching my feet,while the armour was only in my chest region...I'd sit under a tall tree,and some men dressed in a similiar way ti the way I was dressed would walk up to me...then they'd attack me and I was defend myself,I was so skilled in swordsman ship in my dream I would defeat them in an easy way,slit the necks of some with my sharp sword and let the rest to escape then let out a loud roar..that's when I usually wake up....

The dream was somehow attached to me,I feel it in an indescribable way when I wake up,but I never told anyone of my dream...when I woke up on that faithful saturday,I stood from my bed reluctantly and walked towards the direction of the sitting room...I saw my brother watching ben 10..I smiled to my self,him and ben 10 were inseparable...when I checked the wall clock in the sitting room...the time was some minutes past 10,I was sure my parents would have gone to work. I sat down for some minutes before asking my younger brother what he ate
"Have you eaten?" I asked
"Yes"he replied
"What did you eat?"
"Cornflakes"he said
I went to the kitchen,took a bowl and prepared cornflakes...I took the bowl to my room then played game for some hours...when it was around 4pm I took my bath,went for a stroll and when I came back,my food was already on the dining table,I ate the delicious lunch...when I got to my room I pinged a little then played game,when it was 9pm and my parents weren't back yet..I slept off.

When I opened my eyes,I discovered I wasn't in my room but was in a familiar place

CHAPTER ONE

I was shocked when I saw where I was but fore an unknown reason I wasn't scared,I felt a new spark of power within me I felt new in an indescribable way,when I stood up,I noticed I was in the place I usually dream of but everything seemed so much farther apart and there weren't nearly as many tall trees as there were in my dreams. I drifted further and looked around then walked for what seems to be hours,I had no wristwatch,phone and any other thing apart from what I was wearing,my thinking faculty was shut down,I couldn't think straight...I kept walking till I became tired,the sun was at its peak..I decided to rest under a tree,immediately I sat down I heard voices of humans,although it was barely audible I was sure I heard something. I walked towards the direction I heard the voice from...the voices became clearer as I saw an opening,I walked further till I saw a market,the market was like the ones in ancient films,I saw dozens of people dressed up in a funny manner,I became more confused..I walked into the market and all eyes were on me like I was a celebrity.

I looked odd probably because of my cloth but I didn't give a da*mn,I need answers to the millions of questions on my mind...the market was scanty and dirty,who cares. I continued walking through the market,then I saw a well built man slap a little girl and no one cared to interfere,I sure wasn't gonna turn a blind eye to the situation...the man wore a garment underneath his armour,with a sheathed sword hanged around an ancient belt around his waist level, he raised his hand to slap the little girl once more,I shouted,
"Hey!!stop!!"
he looked at me like I was a nobody and asked if I had a death wish,by this time all eyes were on us..He gave the girl a dirty slap that sounded like thunder,my blood boiled and I walked towards his direction he un-sheathed his sword as I came closer to him,when I reached a point in which he could attack me,he flinged his swords towards my direction,I dodged it excellently then he moved backward so as to strike once more,this time around he targeted my arm I moved sideways a little then hold his wrist and bent it,his sword fell in the process..then I punched his nose almost immediately,I picked up his sword and pointed it to his neck,when I looked around everybody had a surprised look on their face...like he was some champion..

With the sword still pointed at his neck,some men came out from nowhere wearing the same outfit with the man I just defeated..they were about 50 in number and they surrounded me...

CHAPTER TWO

"Elliot,are you ok"a man I assumed to be their leader asked the man that just got defeated by me,I never knew his name was elliot,by this time I'v dropped the sword on the floor and my hands were a little above my head...that was when I thought of how I defeated the man(Elliot)my reflex was out of this world,I was too fast..their leader interrupted my thoughts when he told his followers to tie me up and bring me along with them...Elliot gave me a deadly look....the villagers were chattering,probably over my brave-ness and skills...when we got to where they were headed,the men wearing armour were so much,probably 50,000,then we walked to the front where the men there weren't really much..a short slim man told their leader that the General wants to see him and Elliot..and they left after telling the other men there to keep a close watch on me..who the f*uck is General,what have I done,where am I,when did I suddenly become so skillful and strong were the thoughts running through my mind...

An hour later,Elliot,their leader and one other man walked towards my direction...the man told the men keeping a close watch on me to un-tie me and he also ordered one of them to give me a sword,then he ordered every other person to move back,he un-sheathed his sword in a skillful way...before I knew it he advanced towards me,flinged his sword towards my direction but I blocked it with mine,he kept on attacking and I blocked off all his attack with my sword..the sounds of chattering metals filled the air,when I saw an opening right after I dodged one of his attack,I couldn't use my sword to attack him cos its gonna be too slow and he's gonna block it off easily,I punched his chest region really hard he moved backward in the process...then I advanced toward him to strike him but he dodged it excellently and used the bottom of his sword to hit my hand making my sword fall down...he must have been too distracted that he didn't notice when i kicked his sword from his hand..we were both left with no sword..we've been fighting for up to 30minutes but he was a great swordsman..we proceeded to fight with our bare hands,he threw a punch at me but I hit it with my palm,another punch followed immediately I ducked it,then I threw a kick towards his face,he held my led.."this is the perfect opportunity"I said to my self,as he held my leg towards his face region,I rested it on his shoulder in order for it to serve as support so that I can move my other leg...I threw another kick with my second leg right on his face...he couldn't block it..he staggered backwards,I regained my balance immediately while he was still staggering.,I charged towards him,when I was close enough I jumped and used my two legs to kick his chest,we both fell down but I stood up immediately...he was rolling on the floor,some men there went to carry him up immediately..he smiled at me when he regained his composure and ordered me to follow him

No other person followed us,as we walked he told me he loved the way I stood up for the little girl,that Elliot was a bully,but was not a weakling anyone could defeat in a minute...that's was why he tested my ability,he told me he was the general of babylonian,he asked if I was new in babylonian
"No sir,I didn't even know how I got here"I answered him
"Which country are we"I asked
"we are in greece"he said
I didn't bother asking any other question because I knew he won't have answers to my questions,I kept thinking about what was going on..he then told me he was the best swordsman in babylonian,but now that I'v defeated him,I'm the new best swordsman..."Who's interested in that sh*it"I thought to myself

The short slim man ran towards our direction shouting GENERAL!! GENERAL!!...when he finally reached where we were he said"General,they are here,they are at the border"

I said to my self "WHO ARE THEY"

CHAPTER THREE:

"What's the situation"general asked the short slim man
"I don't really know,but they fortress at the border is under attack"the man wailed
"Is it the asyrian army"the general asked
"Yes sir"he replied...
"Get the army ready,only the cavalry. We need to get there fast and immediately" the general shouted
"An army of how many sir"the short slim man asked
"20,000"he replied
He called a man passing by and told him to get him james,I was just watching what was going on...I wanted to ask what's wrong but I decided to keep quiet...when James arrived,he was the leader of the men that surrounded me..
"Have you heard the news"the general asked
"Yes sir"he replied
"I am leading the army to battle straight away,tell them to get their armour and weapons,only cavalry"he said,then he asked for my name..I told him my name was Daniel and he told me to stay at the barrack till he comes back and I said,"okay". He went to his room to dress up,his armour was different from the other armours,James armour was also different,it was obvious they were in higher positions..then the slim short man brought a white horse to him and he said,"thanks,lance"...

The general and James held their horse by its saddle and walked towards the direction of the barracks field where thousands of soldiers wearing armour were gathered,their swords were in their waist region attached to a belt..theirs swords was sheathed..they all made way for james and the general as they both walked to the front..when they got to the front the general turned to address the army facing him.

" Great warriors of babylonian,you are all my brothers,as we ride side by side today to go defeat the barbarians
Who wants to hurt our family and take what our ancestors gave their life for,we will ride proudly cos we are the ones who protect our forefathers land" then he raised his sword up and shouted,"TO VICTORY!!!"...the army gathered in the field also shouted in unison "TO VICTORY" as they unsheathe their swords and raised it up. Then they marched out,each of them on the back of their horse..

I sat down on the bare floor,why was I there?what am I to do there

"Daniel Paul"a voice at my rear called out
In a second,thousands of thoughts ran through my mind,how did the person know my name and surname,when I turned I saw...

When I turned,I saw an old man with white beards using a walking stick to support his weight,I didn't bother greeting him,
"How did you know my full name"I asked
he replied me with a smile then he told me he knows everything about me...then he started telling me the name of my dad,mom,where I came from and other things then he stopped,he then asked if I now believe him,I was shocked but I wasn't going to give up that easily,
"Since you claim you know everything,where am I and why am I here"
"you are in babylonian,you are here because you are the only heir to king paul who passed away 450 years ago,you are the only one who can possess the power the moss sword holds"I was confused at this moment and it seems he noticed,he paused then continues "I know this is much to take in all at once,by the way I'm Arnus,the one and only great seer of babylonian. When you are ready to fulfil your mission,come to the dark mountain,you would find me there"before I could open my mouth,he had disappeared..but I wasn't surprised at all,I was about to lose my sanity..I was eager to learn more,how on earth was I to leave the barrack when the General had given a strict order to the thousands of men in the barrack that I'm not allowed to go anywhere. Lance interrupted my thoughts when he told me to follow him,I didn't even know when he walked up to me.

He took me to a room which he said was mine,the room was a lil large with a wooden bed,how on earth did he expect me to sleep on that sh*it,he left me afterwards after he placed two five men outside the door to my room,I saw food on the table,that was when I noticed I was fu'cking hungry,the food was enough to feed 5 men. When I finished eating,I slept off reluctantly on the wooden bed..

I woke up the next morning,I wanted to walk out of my room but I was stopped by my 'guards'..I wondered if they didn't have better things to do...as i was about to sit down on a stool near my wooden bed,lance came in and ordered me to follow him,I followed him to the main field of the barrack where there were usually @ least five thousand men,a guy I was sure I could defeat with my eyes closed started training us,we trained for hours and I haven't eaten anything,by this time I'v changed my clothes to a garment...we were still training when a man rode in and went to meet lance..they talked for sometime then lance told us to listen up
"My great brothers of babylonian,the general said he needs reinforcement of about 10 thousand men,infantry this time around,and you would be led by Daniel"they started murmuring to each other,lance gave me a sign to come forward,when I came forward he continued "this is Daniel,make sure you all obey and help him cos this is the General's wish and I trust you believe in the General" they all nodded in agreement

Although it was all new to me,I was happy to lead such a number of soldiers,GAME ON

As we marched out of the golden gate,I was at the front of the soldiers on the back of my horse,only few of us were riding horse,including elliot who was by my side,he was a batallion commander alongside with Peter,riding horse was merry to me cause I used to ride them in beach. The road was rough,but since it was our territory we were able to scale through,we rode for a day before the border was visible to us from a distant.

"We'v almost gotten there"Elliot told me

"Let's stop here and formulate our strategy in order to not just run into them with no strategy"I replied him

"Yeah,that's a great plan"Peter supported

"Let me go relay the info to the soldiers"Elliot resorted

"Good idea"I commended him

The sun was already not illuminating where we were,I guessed the time to be around 6pm,all this while,I was still thinking of the old man I saw with a walking stick,I really wanted to see him but duty calls. I got down from my horse and a soldier came to take it from me,when they were through with setting the tent,I told Elliot to organise a meeting with all the commanders and send a scout to check out the situation. When I was left alone in my tent,my mind drifted afar. I was carrying the responsibility of 10,000 lives in my hand. No mistake must be made,every little detail must be checked upon thoroughly. About an hour later,Elliot came to tell me that he had sent 5 of the best scouts in babylonian,and that all the commanders were waiting for me in the central tent,I told him to lead the way which he did and I followed behind. When we reached the tent,there were 7 chairs circled around a long table. 3 by the right,3 by the left and 1 at the central. It was only the chair at the center that wasn't yet occupied,I was sure they reserved it for me,benefits of being a leader.

As I sat down,all eyes were on me and there was stark silent in the tent until Peter spoke up,

"How do you intend to attack them,we don't even know where the general is,he only sent someone with an urgent report without describing the situation"

"That means the situation is grave"I replied him,then continued"that's why we can't do anything yet,we don't know if there's a trap that lie ahead. We can only wait for the scouts to report back to us before we are certain of anything"

"What if the General and his army are in grave danger"Elliot shouted at me

"Well,he didn't gain the title of General for nothing,I'm sure he's a very intelligent man and will be able to preserve till we have a full-pack and baked plan"I said to him calmly

Desmond,one of the commanders also spoke up,
"Its already late,I think everyone should retire to their tents and gather again tomorrow" I seconded him then everyone left for their tent

Please your comments do matter a lot thanks in anticipation

I think u should change the title of d story and stop writing in short form.... u av a good story....my opinion though

I woke up very early the next day,the scouts had arrived by then,I told elliot to organise a meeting again and he did so,he told me he would come and call me when they had all gathered. he came to call me after I've wore my armour,we both walked to the central tent,as we entered all the commanders stared at me like their life depended on me. I noticed 2 men who were on their feet at the corner of the tent. Elliot and I sat down.

"Good morning commanders of babylonian"I greeted

"Good morning"they all said in unison

"These are two out of the 5 scouts we sent" Elliot said staring at the 2 men at the corner of the tent

"What's the situation report"I said facing the 2 men

"The General and his men are trapped inside the fortress at the border region,from the looks of things I think their water supply had been poisoned"one of the scouts narrated

"There must be asyrian soldiers in front of the fortress gate if they are trapped inside"I said

"Yes sir,there are about 15,000 soldiers at the front of the fortress gate"he replied

"What are your opinions?"I asked the commanders

"I think we should attack them from the back"Desmond suggested

"Yes,that's the best option we have" Daniel,who was also one of the commanders seconded him. All of them supported desmond

"Are they well armed"I shifted my question to the scout

"Yes sir,they have lots of horses and caterpillars,arrows and strong shields"he said

"What do we have?" I asked the commanders and they all stared at their selves before Elliot spoke up

"We also have arrows and shields" Elliot said

"What about the difference in the number of men they have and the number of men we have"I asked them,they all looked down shamefully and I continued,"Have you even thought of the reason why the General is trapped in the fortress?,its probably because he had no choice but to retreat into the fortress"

"Then what's your plan"Charles who was also one of the commanders asked me

"Is there any secret passage into the fortress"I asked no one in particular

"Yes,but its too dangerous"the scout replied me

"What about if we distract them a little"I asked

"Its less dangerous then"the replied

"Does that mean you can make it in if i distract them"I said

"I'm positive I can"he replied with confidence

"Good then"I said

"What's your plan of distraction"Elliot asked

"We would attack them and retreat almost immediately"I replied

"Nice idea"they all said in unison

"After that,what's your plan"Desmond asked

"We'd attack them from front and rear"I said

"Time is of essence" Charles said

"We march out by noon"I said with a tone of finality and dismissed them all
