Contrary to rumours making the rounds, that President Goodluck Jonathan's illness and consequent treatment in the UK, was due to excess alcohol, which the President consumed during his 56th birthday celebration,The Presidential spokesman, Rueben Abati, has announced that the illness was due to severe abdominal pains.

He further said, the President has been certified fully fit, and he is scheduled to arrive Abuja, latter today (Sunday).

The president as reported, observed his birthday quietly mid air en-route to London and latter in his hotel room.

The presidency however thanked all Nigerian for their support and prayers.

Abati's statement also pointed fingers at Saharareporter (an online news and information source) as the source of misleading news information about the cause of the president's illness and that they are not immune to legal actions.
