The Ogun State Government, under its Public/ Private Partnership, PPP, initiative has secured support of the African Health Market for Equity, AHME, partners comprising the World Bank and allies on the roll-out of the Community Based Health Insurance Scheme, CBHIS, in the state. Commissioner for Health, Dr. Olaokun Soyinka, who made this known in Abeokuta after a presentation to the group on the process and modalities for the operation of the scheme, pointed out that the development would help in achieving the re-defined health strategy of government towards providing efficient health- care system. Responding, Director, Health Market of AHME, Mr. Matt Boxshall assured of the readiness of his team to collaborate with the state government to provide high quality service delivery, describing the CBHIS scheme as a genuine intervention capable of addressing health‑related challenges. He counselled that it should be replicated in other states and African countries to cater for the health needs of the people, especially the poor. www.vanguardngr.com/2013/11/ogun-partners-world-bank-others-health-insurance/ |
