The president of the United States Barack Obama admitted that he is not allowed to have iPhone because of security fears. “I’m not allowed for security reasons to have an iPhone,” he revealed today while promoting Obamacare in a speech to a youth audience at the White House.

The president explained why he is seen with a super secure Blackberry whose global smartphone market share has hit the very bottom. The president’s daughters Sasha and Maila spend quality time on their iPhones while Obama is restricted to having just a bulky BlackBerry device.

Even before Obama became president, he was addicted to his BlackBerry and won a battle with the U.S Secrete Service to hold on to his smartphone, irrespective of fears that it was vulnerable to being hacked, thus releasing sensitive information like the president’s whereabouts.

Obama declared that the government would have to “pry it (BlackBerry) out my hands” before he was able to own a beefed-up security BlackBerry smartphone with its personal email address strictly limited to a small list of senior officials and personal friends. The White House says it won’t however detail the encryption devices that are used to secure Obama’s communications.
