I want someone to tell me why they think this movie shouldn't have gotten all those awards and Leonardo DiCaprio shouldn't have gotten that Oscar.

The revenant, he was left for dead by his contemporaries but he fought against all odds to stay alive and seek revenge on his sons killer.

The revenant, he had to sleep inside a horse to keep warm in the blistering cold.

The revenant showed me just how important motivation is to a particular course of action, he needed to revenge his sons death and would stop at nothing to get it, not withstanding the fact that he was rough handled by a bear.

Leonardo DiCaprio really went all in on this one.

Amazing is all I can say.

Mauled by a bear, left for dead, lost a son, but somehow picked himself up, wade through blizzards, took shelter inside a dead horse's gut, ate an uncooked animal to keep from starving, rescued a woman from amorous frenchies, stole some horses, made it back to base, got treated, set out again, tracked his son's murderer down, fought and overpowered him, and offered him to the Indians. The man has a heart and stubbornness me a wounded lion.

Leonaldo DiCaprio gave a solid performance without a doubt, but the real MVP was Tom f**king Hardy. He stoled every scene. Such a great villain.

Lolz. The one that left the best impression on me was that bear scene. He got clawed at several times, manhandled, bitten, stumped on, but somehow was able to summon enough strength to reach for his gun, and gun down the blood-thirsty mama bear. Inspiring stuff.
