The Global Association of Muslim Youth (GAMY) is an endeavour that has been started with the intention of promoting Islamic brotherhood for the Muslim youth of Barbados through various types of sporting events and activities.
The Association’s intention is to also provide various modes of islamically permissible recreation, entertainment and leisure activities which will Inshallah, become a means of strengthening the ties between our Muslim brothers and help to encourage Islamic love and unity within our island. The GAMY activities provide an opportunity to offer a healthy atmosphere to sport competition by uniting the community, creating healthy team spirit, building self-confidence and so much more.

GAMY sporting events and tournaments is a unique experience for the Muslim community of Barbados. It is a result of the collective effort of committed individuals dedicated to Islamic community service. The Associations committee of the GAMY welcomes each member of the community to be part of the association and all of its events; to be rewarded by Allah (SWT) and to chare in memorable moments.

OBJECTIVES:

• To promote cooperation between Muslims youth through sports
• To encourage Islamic brotherhood through healthy competition.
• To organize professional sports and community events
• To encourage cooperation and unity between local Muslim organizations through sports
• To develop athletic skills within the Muslim community

The Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) has been reported to have said:
"Take advantage of five matters before five other matters: your youth, before you become old; and your health, before you fall sick; and your richness, before you become poor; and your free time before you become busy; and your life, before your death."

The Global Association of Muslim Youth Ladies (GAMYL) is an initiative aimed at providing a context whereby females from the Muslim Community globally can come together to share, create, learn and have fun, on the basis of Islamic principles.
The GAMYL seeks to foster meaningful relations amongst Muslim girls and women globally, as well as provide a comfortable and safe social context for us to engage in activities that promote the aims of the association.

Among the objectives of the GAMYL are to:
- Educate Muslim girls and women about their roles within Islam
-Build confidence
-Boost Creativity
-Promote sisterhood
-Assist in promoting Islam in a positive light

We welcome all Muslim females globally to become members of the GAMYL and encourage all of you to voice any ideas, comments or questions pertaining to the GAMYL and/or related affairs.

The GAMY is appealing for funds to assist the people of East Africa who are facing a major humanitarian disaster.

Ummah Welfare Trust in the United Kingdom is reporting the following:



“Ten million people in East Africa are being tested by Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala with the worst drought seen in the region for 60 years. Families are hungry, thirsty and have no shelter. They wait for the Ummah to respond to their cries.”
Ummah Welfare Trust has launched a £3 million appeal for our brothers and sisters in Kenya & Somalia


It is also being reported that 29,000 children have died in the last 90 days in southern Somalia and many more will die in coming weeks.
