Heads of States are all descending to the greater soil of South Africa, the home of late Nelson Mandela. The likes of Barack Obama are already in South Africa to give an enormous farewell to Nelson Mandela; presenting the government with a security test, logistical challenges and protocol quiz all rolled into one.
Fortunately, today coincides with the UN designated Human Rights Day, the memorial service for Mandela in the 95,000-seat Soccer City stadium is the centrepiece of a week of mourning for the globally-admired statesman, who died on Thursday aged 95.
World Leaders And Dignitaries All In South Africa To Say Farewell To The Late Nelson MandelaThis ceremony will bring world leaders with differences together in a venue, and perhaps, this is the time for leaders with sour relationships to bury the hatchet and emulate the acts of the late Nelson Mandela.
The Nelson Mandela funeral will have more people in attendance than Pope John Paul’s funeral, which brought together 70 heads of state & 14 leaders of other regions,”

Brazil’s leader, Dilma Rousseff and French President Fraincois Hollande are also expected. Prince Charles of Britain will be in attendance representing the Queen, Queen Elizabeth II, Palestinian leader Mahmud Abbas is also expected to be among top dignitaries expected.
Celebrities from the world of music, film, sports and TV will join other world leaders in paying tribute to Nelson Mandela. Annie Lennox, Bono, Oprah Winfrey, Naomi Campbell and Muhammed Ali are also all expected.

It is expected that the antagonism that exist between these leaders will be on mute, and perhaps, this is an opportunity to bury the hatchet; a wonderful way of honouring the late Nelson Mandela.
Nelson Mandela served over 27 years in prison, initially on Robben Island, and later in Pollsmoor prison and Victor Verson Prison. Despite all what the late Nelson Mandela went through, it is still unbelievable that he focused his government on dismantling the legacy of apartheid through tackling institutionalised racism, poverty and inequality, and fostering racial reconciliation. After elected as the president of South Africa from 1994 to 1999.
Ban Ki-moon, who will also deliver a tribute, visited the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory in Johannesburg on Monday.
“The world mourns the loss of Nelson Mandela, one of the towering figures of our time and indeed of any time,” he said. “We join together in sorrow for a mighty loss and in celebration of a mighty life.
The 95 year-old, Nelson Mandela was a symbol of hope and peace around the world and to millions.
