A man who already had thirteen children from his wife, thought of how to stop producing more and decide to go and see a family planning councillor. The councillor, who provided him with different methods, told him that the best method is the use of condom. The man has never used a condom before, so, he told the councillor to demonstrate how it is used. The councillor in trying to be polite brought out a condom, showed the Hausa man and demonstrated with one of her fingers how it is worn.The councillor emphasised that the man should wear always wear it that way, whenever he wants to have sex with his wife. He thanked the councillor and went his way. Four months later, his wife told him that she was two months pregnant. The Hausa man bluntly accused his wife of sleeping with men outside, and asked the woman to pack out of his house. The man quickly ran to the family planning councillor to thank her for making him discover the illicit act of his wife. But the councillor asked him some questions: councillor: "Are you sure your wife is having an affair outside?" Hausa man: "Yes!" councillor: "Are you using the condom consistently and properly?" Hausa man: "Wallahi tallahi, since you have lectured me on this, I have been using it according to the way you demonstrated". councillor: "How?" Hausa man: "Before I have sex with my wife, I make sure I wear the condom on my finger". |
