Nigeria today has witnessed the embarrassing situation of unemployment while some graduates will wait for decades to gain jobs, most graduates especially the igbos tend to move towards enterprauaship and venture into business and other self employed this is also In High numbers, Igbo traders are now pursuing formal education, and many upgrading to higher academic degrees. The burgeoning development defuses a misconception among some Igbos that sees education and entrepreneurship as opposing parallels. On the account of this new trend, many Igbo traders are becoming emboldened, with renewed self-confidence and broadened horizon, enabling them better appreciate the challenges of a changing world and improve their trade. This population’s positive influence on their constituency—fellow traders and their local communities—witness to their role as contributors to the reshaping and development of Igboland that cannot be ignored. This is a new trend, its evolution and role in enhancing entrepreneurship and social transformation. It recommends considering this population as valuable dialogue partners in charting the future of Igboland.
