Fashola - Badagry Seaport Project On Front Burner. by agbameta: 11:24pm On Dec 13, 2013
The Lagos State government on Thursday said that it had not abandoned its plan to construct a seaport in the ancient town of Badagry.

Governor Babatunde Fashola gave the assurance while inaugurating the Phase II Market Street in the Badagry Local Government Area.

Fashola said that the government kept the seaport project on the “front burner”.

He said that the government was aware of the needs of the ancient city, and would attend to them one after the other.

Fashola said that his administration would inaugurate more facilities in Badagry, including a court complex and a housing estate.

Fashola, however, warned the market men and women against trading on the roadsides, noting that roadside trading was an offence in the state.

“This road is supposed to aid easy access to your market; don’t trade on the road.

“Customers are supposed to meet you in your shops”, he said.

He appealed to Badagry residents to shun all forms of vice, and urged them to pay their taxes promptly.

Fashola also called on them to participate in the ongoing residents’ registration.

Earlier, the state commissioner for works and infrastructure, Obafemi Hamzat, hoped that the road would improve socio-economic activities in the area.

“This project was awarded in May 2012 as part of this administration’s efforts to solve flooding and traffic congestion within the community.”

This guy no dey rest O
Everyday ,
Flag off New project .
Everyday ,
Commission new project.

Imagine
Lagos with little land investing in agriculture

While the useless benue state governor is borrowing money to pay salary .

Personally ,
I would love Fashola to be in charge of a millennium trust fund ,contributed by all states in the SW including Edo ,to be used for developmental purposes.
100 billion naira to start with.

Especially
In creating new economies

Tourism
Agriculture
Manufacturing
Oil and gas

If this isn't d usual Govt propaganda, then this is laudable.

Hate him or love him, this guy seems to be embarking on well planned projects. Kudos to his team (or whoever brings d ideas).

I esp like the fact that development isn't restricted to the already congested urban areas but d "outskirts" like Lekki and Badagry with a proposed railway line virtually running across the state. This will ensure dat development will be spread across.
