The State Of Customer Service In The Banking Sector by scubed(m): 12:09pm On Dec 17, 2013
The Banking sector has been successful in convincing many urban dwellers in Nigeria that the Bank is undoubtedly the safest and healthiest place to save money. Many banks have sprung up over the time; the Governor of the Central Bank, Mallam Sanusi Lamido has invested a lot of resources to make the Nigeria Banking sector a laudable one as the Banking sector has witnessed a couple of reforms lately.
Customers have cited excellent customer service as a major reason for continued banking relationships. Customers are concerned about staff attitude and efficiency in complaints or enquiries as the most important core issues. And this calls for no surprise, as many of these well-known banks continue to empower their banks with staff that have training in relationship management and other requisite technical capabilities to enhance the quality of service delivery.
The State Of Customer Service In The Banking SectorThe issue of queues at bank branches is still a headache for many in Nigeria. Bank branches need to involve different approaches which may vary from branch layout redesign, deploying more ATMs or assigning more resources to branches as required or as one customer suggested
Some bank customer services are poor; as you have limited seats available for people, the queues are long, the air conditioning service are not in proper shape, the ATM machines are inactive and you could spend over an hour just to get any of the bank official attending to you.

The customer service in these banks ranges, we have over 20 banks in the country. The popular banks in Nigeria are: Zenith Bank, Citi Bank, Access Bank, United Bank For Africa, Union Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank, First Bank, Fidelity Bank, Diamond Bank, Monument Bank, Ecobank , Mainstreet Bank, Skye Bank, Stanbic IBTC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank,Keystone Bank, Unity Bank, J.P Morgan Chase.
There is a report that says Younger customers (under – 30) are less loyal, they are more likely to change banks compared to customers above 60. Considering this report, it is expected that many of these banks will invest handsomely in building a good and lasting relationship with this age group; as they are a group that the Banks can’t afford to lose.
Which of those banks do you use? And how do you rate your bank’s customer service in Nigeria?

You are simply on point.
I have account with three banks & they are all good.
Quality of service depends solely on the branch & the staffs have various way to manage customers.
I find it hard to rate any.
