1cor.10:16; The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ?

Paul called the communion "the cup of blessing". The word 'cup' is the Greek word 'poterion' meaning a vessel of drinking.

The cup of wine for communion is called a vessel of blessing. When we take that cup, the bible says we drink blessing into our lives.
Its not just a religious ceremony.

In Acts of the Apostle, the bible showed us how they went from house to house breaking bread. It was a regular thing.

What is so important about the communion?
Let us look the first place communion was given.

In Genesis, when Abraham returned from the slaughter of kings, melchizedek met him and gave him BREAD AND WINE. He blessed Abraham and said "Abraham of the most high, possessor of heaven and earth".

That blessing became the Abrahamic blessing. Abraham transferred this blessing to his son Isaac, who in turn, transferred to his son and so on until Jesus came.

Galatians said, if ye be Christ then are ye Abraham's seed. That blessing is in the communion which melchizedek, a type of Christ gave to Abraham.

Everytime we break bread, we are establishing that Abrahamic blessing on our lives.
The bible said the gospel was first preached to Abraham. Gal 3:8;
How and when?

When melchizedek gave him BREAD AND WINE, signifying the body and blood of Jesus - the gospel was preached to him.
Jesus said as often as you do this.

How often is your often? Once a month? Once a year? Everyday?
Acts 2 : 46-47; they broke bread,...praised God and had favour with all men.

Have u broken bread today?
Have u showed the Lord's death today?
Have u taken the cup of blessing today?
