Leaders like Gov. Obi will Change Nigeria for Better – Chimamanda

The renowned writer, Mrs Chimamada Adichie Esege said that Gov. Obi had remained a source of pride and inspiration to many, noting that many more leaders like him were needed to change Nigeria for better. She was speaking yesterday at a thanksgiving mass at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Abba to commemorate Diamond Jubilee of Chimamda’s parents – Prof. James Adichie and Mrs Grace Adichie- marriage.
The officiating priest and the Parish Priest of the Church, Rev. Fr. Dr. Mike Alozie who also said that Nigeria needed leaders like Obi, described Obi as God-sent. He said the Governor had uplifted Anambra State to a position of pride.

Earlier in his sermon, the Homilist, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hycinth Ichoku said that successful marriages should be celebrated to encourage younger couples to remain united with faith in God in tackling marriage challenges. He lamented that many marriages are now in serious crises because people have completely forgotten the essence of marriage and substituted God’s will by their own wills.

In his remarks, Gov. Obi, accompanied by his wife, Margaret and two children, Amaka and Eloka,said that one of the greatest achievements of his Government was rebuilding human infrastructure. He said that equipping people with the right conception and perception of life would engender better attitudinal change for a better society.

While expressing the need for positive role models for the younger ones to emulate, the Governor expressed satisfaction with the commendable dividends being harnessed from the return of schools to the Church, noting that students of the State now record excellent results in internal and external examinations.

In another development, Gov. Peter has called on Nigerians to learn to make sacrifices for the greatness of the country. He was speaking at a thanksgiving mass for Chief Vincent Obianodo (the Young Shall Grow) at St. John Catholic Church, Neni.
Speaking at the event, a well know transporter, Chief Chidi Anyaegbu (Chisco Motors) called on the federal Government to emulate Gov. Obi who had transformed Anambra roads by embarking on massive reconstruction of federal roads in the country.
