Insulin pills could soon be a reality thanks to
researchers in India who have developed a
new method of delivering oral insulin. The
researchers used sacs made of lipids to pack
the insulin and then added folic acid to the
pill to help improve its absorption into the
bloodstream. The formulation helped control
blood-sugar levels in rats for about 18 hours.
The next step is to replicate the same results
in humans.
N.B: To those may not know insulin is a type of injection administered to diabetes patients
