Where Waziri’s grandfather sought to teach young Waziri a lesson, it was he (his grandfather) who ended up receiving a lesson as Waziri simply borrowed the equivalent sum of money his grandfather provided from friends with a promise to share his profits with them, a proposition to which his friends gladly agreed as even at that young age, Waziri was already renowned as a man of his word. Beguiled into thinking that his grandson had successfully doubled the sum of money given him by endeavour of trade, Waziri’s grandfather kept his promise and doubled the resultant sum enabling his grandson to keep his own word and share his profit with his creditors. When his grandfather discovered by happenstance the fast one his grandson had pulled on him, he marvelled above all at the boy’s gift of the garb. The kid had something that cannot be taught; recognition of what it would take to win in any situation by means fair or unfair and the intuition to know which means to select for every given situation. In this, Waziri was a mirror image of his own grandfather.
