The General Overseer of a church known as Mountain of Breakthrough Deliverance Ministry in Lagos (AKA land of solution) Rev. Godson O. Akubuiro, is being held by the State Security Service (SSS) in Kogi State after being arrested with N1.3 million fake currency notes.
Kogi State Director of the SSS, Mike Fubara, said 15 other accomplices including six of his children were also arrested with him. Parading the culprits in Lokoja yesterday, Fubara said: “After we noticed the worrisome circulation of fake currency notes in the state we decided to undertake a covert operation to uncover those behind it. The operation took the service four months before Godson who specialized in printing and circulating fake naira notes was arrested in Lagos,” he said. According to him, the operation took them to Lagos where they were arrested.
He said the pastor was also involved in Advance Fee Fraud (419) activities, using his children to lure victims to his place, adding that one Chika Udukwe was his director of operation.
“Items recovered from them include equipment and materials used in printing fake naira notes, a large quantity of the printed fake notes, cut to size blank notes among others,” he said.
He said investigation into the matter is ongoing while the syndicate would be charged to court after that, warning members of the public to be wary of the existence of fake notes in circulation and report any suspect to security agencies for appropriate action.
Pastor Godson while answering questions from journalists said he started his church in 2000 but commenced printing of fake currency notes in November 2011. He said one Hamza, now deceased, who lived at Lekki area of Lagos, introduced him to the fake currency business and that he had been printing and using the fake notes. He however pleaded for leniency, saying men of God like him are often tempted by Satan, just as King David fell many times but was still pardoned by God

Isn't the above quote, priceless? He has been printing fake notes for over a decade and he's now pleading for leniency because ONLY men of God are often tempted by Satan. It doesn't happen to ordinary men like the rest of us. I wonder what he preaches to his congregation on sundays.
