Lawyers by Equity has become a trite phrase common among Graduating Students of Noun glorious School of Law when reffering to co students. I make bold to posist that now is the time for all of us to come together and form a pressure group to prevail on the school authourity to ensure that the recent exclusion of Noun graduate from the youth service programm after paying for Jamb reguliarization and meeting with the requirement of the NYSC Act is not repeated as far as law school is concerned.

With the current state of exclusion, the hope of many of our students especially the young once have been crushed. As a matter of fact the Act establishing NYSC inded made provision for some category of persons to be granted exclusion from the service like NDA graduates but what I am yet to get clearly is if they are meant to pay for Jamb regulirization before exclusion certificate is issued out to them......

However it is more than impearative that we Noun Law Advocates even as some claim by equity, start now to utilise the legal knowledge we have so far aquired to defend our rights especially as it relates to our addmission into Nigeria Law School moreso with the recent appointment of a new D.G. for the Nigeria Law School.

Personally each time I hear people contend that Noun student should not be eligible for law school I tell my self; it is either they are ill-informed of what open and distance learning is all about or they are afraid of the potential exposure of the dearth of legal education in conventional institutions.

Whatever their reason(s) I'm very sure many of us have thoroughly enjoyed our law study with noun and by no means feel inferior to the kids from the other block.
Law school is the perfect plateform to subject us all to thesame programm and the result will speak for itself.

Additionally if you have had any outstanding experience in the course of your study you could share it here. if you have any legal question please feel free to ask as well as provide updates of current happenings. please note that rumours are not. allowed and for the kids from conventional institutions studying law do feel free to join this thread.
Jay.

How helpful was your Supervisor in the course of writting your Project. if giving another chance will you preffer a different long essay topic.
"the rellevance of statutory and non statutory legal principles to Environmental Health and Safety Management; a comparative analysis of Nigeria and other jurisdictions". researching. the topic supral was so rewarding that I am already working on converting the research into my very first book.
if you are currently in final year my advice is start
now and avoid the fire brigade approach by taking the following steps.
1. reveiw and select three areas of law that you find interesting and relevant to your future area of specialisation..
2. submitt three typed copies of the sellected topic to your study center for approval.
3. while awaiting the school approval start reading widely about the topics and collate your materials together while you await approval of the school on your submitted topic.
4. Next and very importantly write a letter to the school registra copying your centet director requesting for a copy of your statement of result from one hundred level to date so as to harmonise your records and reconcile issues of missing results if any so as to ensure a hitchfree graduation.
5. then await your project Supervisor and topic from the school.
if you have any question feel free to ask as I. shall be glad to oblige you in any way I can.

@prinzoladimegi thanks for the news flash. Our task here is to bring as much students as possible to form a pressure group that can impress on the relevant stake holders to do the right thing.
